Three rivers are the focus of this round.

Bestwig
Three rivers are at the center of this tour. The most famous of them, the Ruhr, is where the route starts in Bestwig. It first leads along a former railroad line, known as the "Bähnchen", via Heringhausen to Ramsbeck. The tour continues steadily uphill through the Valmetal valley to Bödefeld.
Initially, the route follows a cycle path from Westernbödefeld along the country road, which you leave at Höringhausen. After a steep climb near Köttinghausen, you reach several wind turbines. Later, the route gently descends into the Ruhrtal. The road is crossed again at Remblinghausen and the tour leads back to Meschede via Löllinghausen, where you meet the third river, the Henne, which flows through a beautifully landscaped park into the Ruhr as an outflow from the Hennen dam.
There you can take a detour to the Hennesee and recharge your batteries with a rest before returning to Bestwig via the RuhrtalRadweg through Meschede and Wehrstapel.

A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis, Märkischer Kreis, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the Südwestfalen cycle network.
In Meschede, we recommend the HenneBoulevard. This leads from Meschede town center to the Hennesee. The highlight there is the Himmelstreppe.
