Lake Diemelsee is a true natural jewel. It lies idyllically in the landscape, on its shore the peaks St. Muffert and Eisenberg rise like a landmark. Anyone who climbs up here will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the glittering water. The good water quality ensures a great abundance of fish, which is why the dam is very popular with anglers . Numerous circular and long-distance hiking trails are stretched like a net around the lake, the most famous being the Diemelsteig. Guests also make extensive use of the ferry boat hiking offer and combine the active experience with a ride on the passenger boat. Cycling here can also be as ambitious as it is relaxed; a pleasure bike tour, for example, takes you around the lake in a very family-friendly way. Visitors can jump into the water at the lidos, and they don't even have to do without the company of their four-legged friends: There are two designated dog beaches at Diemelsee. New are the trekking places at the Diemelsteig and Uplandsteig, which make a nature-oriented tent overnight stay a comfortable adventure. Around the lake there is also much to discover: Visitor mines, monasteries, a special nature park experience exhibition called "Visionarium", a truly adventurous (mini) golf course and much more.
