The Wogenweg begins at the lakeside path along Lake Hennesee, directly below the H1 restaurant on the lake at Berghauser Bucht (swimming cove).
This path, located along the shore of Lake Hennesee, features twelve steles displaying a rotating selection of themed poems that visitors can read as they stroll along the trail. Creating a cultural offering like this for everyone—one that can be enjoyed regardless of financial means, pandemic restrictions, or time constraints—was a major goal of the three initiators, who have devoted themselves with great joy to reciting and staging poetry for years.
They agree that reading poetry between the forest and the water—come rain or shine—is good for the body, mind, and soul!
The trail is approximately 2.5 km long, fully accessible, and features three benches that invite visitors to linger. The three women are certain that the Wogenweg is a wonderful addition to the city of Meschede and is well-received by both locals and tourists. A change in theme and poetry is planned quarterly and will be announced on this page and in the newspaper.
The “Path of Delight” invites you to read poems amid beautiful scenery, reflect on your thoughts, and let the forest, water, and words work their magic on you.
The Wogenweg runs directly along the walking path on the shore of Lake Hennesee. The path is paved but not asphalted and is accessible to people with disabilities.
