Our tour starts directly on the Ruhr at the beginning of Meschede's pedestrian zone (Ruhr Bridge). From here we walk through the town center to the district hall. The Hennepark on the Henne floodplains begins behind the district administration. Nature and water can be experienced here. There is a viewing platform, water building blocks, play equipment and much more. Further along the renaturalized Hennen there is some sports equipment that you are welcome to try out.
Another highlight on the Hennen Boulevard is the new Himmelstreppe. Once you have climbed the 333 steps, you will be rewarded with fantastic views. The Hennesee glistens to the west. On the other side, you have a view over the whole of Meschede.
The route continues past the Chill'in kiosk, across the parking lot of the Hennedamm Hotel. The next stop is the Klausenkapelle chapel on Langeloh at the end of an avenue of birch trees. The Michaelskapelle on the Klausenberg dates back to the 12th century and preserves a precious carved altar from the Galilee monastery.
Continue down the Way of the Cross towards Meschede town center.
Maybe you'll be lucky and it's market day. Every Tuesday and Friday morning, Kaiser-Otto-Platz is a hive of activity. Regional fruit and vegetable stalls and fresh flowers can be found here. Stores and cafés invite you to stroll through the pedestrian zone (Ruhrstraße), while the steps at the Ruhr Promenade at the end of the pedestrian zone offer a place to linger.
Comfortable footwear.

- In good weather, the "chill'in" kiosk on Hennedamm is open. Here you can get waffles, ice cream, coffee specialties and cool drinks.
- The Biergarten at the Welcome Hotel Meschede/Hennesee is not far away.
- About 1 km from the Hennedamm along the lake is the modern H1 am See in Berghauser Bucht
