Marsberg
Marsberg
The tour begins at the train station in Marsberg. The town has a lot to offer: historic Obermarsberg—the old town on the hill—an ancient city wall, numerous monuments, and the Besucherbergwerk Kilianstollen.
We follow the Diemelradweg and pass through Padberg. Shortly after Helminghausen, we reach the Diemelsee-Staumauer and can take in our first view of the winding Diemelsee. The route then continues along the eastern shore of the Diemelsee to Heringhausen, where lovely rest areas invite you to linger. On warm summer days, a dip in the cool waters of Diemelsee is also tempting.
We leave the Diemelradweg and cycle back to Marsberg through towns with the lovely names Rhenegge, Adorf, Borntosten, and Leitmar.
