The route begins in the town of Marsberg at junction 02. It follows the Diemel River and then heads uphill along the Via Regia. It passes through the forest via Totenkopf and A-Stein, and goes past the Fettküche, the Forstenberg, and Bredelar Abbey. The route returns to the Diemeltal via the historic Poststraße. After enjoying magnificent views at Prieserberg, the trail follows the Diemel River once more back to the starting point.
