A large portion of nature experience at the water and in the forests, a fine pinch of lifestyle and shopping in the small towns around - the two dams Biggesee and Listersee offer exactly this varied mixture. Between the historic Hanseatic town of Attendorn and the district town of Olpe stretches the Biggesee - the largest of the Sauerland-Seen, the Listersee meanders towards Meinerzhagen. The nature adventure area adjacent to the lakes reaches as far as the town of Drolshagen. In the community of Wenden, the Bigge River finds its source. Thus nestled in the landscape, Biggesee and Listersee await their guests eager to explore. White passenger boats glide over the water, passengers enjoy a piece of cake on board and wave to the mermaid Attania, who rests as an oversized statue on the pristine bird island.
Hikers immerse themselves in the shade of the forests on varied trails and admire the view of the lakes at lofty spots - or even on the Aussichtsplattform Biggeblick. Cyclists will find many exciting routes, sometimes along the shore, sometimes deeper into the swinging Sauerland. Here and there, a special rest stop in a former train station or an eerily beautiful tunnel passage beckons. There are numerous excursion destinations to discover around the lakes, including the famous Atta-Höhle and lovingly designed museums and technical monuments, castles and ruins or even a hedge labyrinth. Further information can be found on the homepage of the nature experience area Biggesee-Listersee.
