Start at the parking lot of the Diemelsee tourist information office in Heringhausen and cycle from the town center along the Diemelradweg in the direction of Giebringhausen - Deisfeld to Usseln. From here, take the "Sportstraße" and "Am Schneppelnberg" road to Willingen and the visitor center.

The route continues via Schwalefeld - Bontkirchen to the Diemelsee dam. From the Diemelsee-Staumauer, take the Diemelradweg back to Heringhausen.
