Only around 10 kilometers separate the vacation resort of Ottlar from the well-known winter sports area of Willingen (Upland). You can experience the charms of the Waldeck Sauerland here in both summer and winter. You will find a water treading pool, barbecue station, refuge, observation tower on the Dommel, Dommelhalle with guest room (approx. 400 seats), playgrounds, guest events and beautiful hiking trails with 100 benches in and around Ottlar.
The easy hike around the vacation resort of Ottlar offers you many sweeping views over the Ottlar mountains.
Start at the hiking board in the center of Ottlar. Walk to the church, before the church take the tarred path to the Diemelsteig trail. Follow the Diemelsteig for a while in the direction of the Dommel tower. After 300 m, turn right into the forest. Follow the path through the forest along the Brentschelt mountain. After 1 km you come to the X 21, turn right here and walk past the Sonnenhofer and back down to the village of Ottlar to the starting point.
