"Airlebnisweg Amecke" - the health trail
At the forebay of the Sorpesee, in the district of Amecke, you will find a hiking trail in a class of its own next to the newly built promenade - the "Airlebnisweg". An ideal hiking trail for families with children, wheelchair users and people who prefer level, barrier-free paths!
The 3 km "Amecke Airlebnisweg" circular trail was created as part of the REGIONALE 2013 "Sauerland-Seen" project as a natural and interactive adventure trail around the Sorpesee reservoir. The trail is barrier-free and includes various individual stations on the overarching theme of water and breathing as core components of life. This theme is conveyed at each station of the trail in a varied, experience-oriented way, incorporating the natural conditions.
At many points along the circular trail, you should simply take off your shoes and consciously feel the water or the different floor coverings. The many barefoot elements and water treading points or the muddy area invite you to do just that.
In the sensory labyrinth and the historic aroma and fragrance garden, you can recharge your batteries before heading back to the other exciting stations.
An architectural highlight of the trail is a membrane structure, the "SORPEDIAMANT". Here, everything revolves around the themes of "peace, water, sound and relaxation". The interior of the extraordinary building is equipped with a "water wall", a sound installation and benches.
All walkers feel at home on the Airlebnisweg - whether they simply want to take a relaxing stroll or intensively "air live" the individual stations along the way!
Info:
The path is designed in a clockwise direction, starting at the southern tip of the forebay. But no matter where you start, after just a few steps you will come across exciting devices, curious formations and water fountains that will captivate you.
Attention! This trail is very busy at weekends in good weather. Please wear a mask and keep the necessary safety distance!
