The museum association e.V. in Endorf was founded in 1991. Since then, by prior arrangement, many things can be admired in the museum "Alte Schmitte".
The basis for the museum was a large number of existing devices and objects, which were collected on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the village. Today the local history museum "Alte Schmitte" houses many treasures of past times. Whether the diverse hunting exhibition, an old cobbler's workshop or the smithy, which can still be used. In addition, the exhibition of dolls from past times and handicrafts of the embroidery circle or the replica of a mining gallery. There is also the production palette from the 100-year history of the Miederhoff company, a chain forge from Endorf. Seasonal events such as the biennial nativity scene exhibition round out the offerings of this small museum. There is always something to marvel at in the "Alte Schmitte" - including countless pieces not listed here.
Once a month the popular coffee cinema takes place in the coffee room. While enjoying coffee and cake, a variety of movies are shown on the screen.
The museum can be visited at any time by appointment.
