The museum association in Endorf was founded in 1991. Since then, the "Alte Schmitte" museum has been open to visitors by prior arrangement.

The basis for the museum was a large number of existing devices and objects that were collected for the 800th anniversary of the village. Today, the "Alte Schmitte" local history museum houses many treasures from times gone by. Whether the diverse hunting exhibition, an old cobbler's workshop or the smithy, which can still be seen in operation. There is also an exhibition of dolls from times gone by and handicrafts from the embroidery circle or a replica of a mining gallery. There is also the production range from the 100-year history of the Miederhoff company, a chain forge from Endorf. Seasonal events such as the biennial nativity scene exhibition round off the offerings of this small museum. There is always something to marvel at in the "Alte Schmitte" - including countless items not listed here.

Once a month, the popular coffee cinema also takes place in the coffee room. A variety of movies are shown on the big screen over coffee and cake.

The museum can be visited at any time by appointment.
