The historic knight's seat in the south of Meinerzhagen is now privately owned and can therefore only be viewed from the outside. The first documentary entries date back to 1621, when the Elector of Brandenburg, who also owned the nearby Badinghagen Castle, was granted recognition as a knight's estate for Gut Listringhausen.
The entire building was restored in 1903, so that no more of the historic structure remains today.
Not far from the estate is the idyllic Genkeltalsperre, which is ideal for walking and hiking. The Bergische Panoramasteig and the Sauerland Höhenflug long-distance hiking trail also run along here!
