Starting at the Heed hiking parking lot in the south of Meinerzhagen, the 5-kilometre-long forest activity trail winds its way around the Heedberg. There are many varied forest discovery stations along the way, such as a dendrophone (where you can make the different trees/woods sound) or the unique forest classroom.
A highlight is the adjoining viewing point with a forest sofa where you can really enjoy the peace and quiet and the far-reaching views.
An information board at the starting point provides an overview of the forest activity trail and the individual stations. The Forest Active Trail app can also be downloaded here free of charge. By sending a signal via the app when you reach a station along the Forest Active Trail, you receive exciting and informative additional material about the adventure stations directly on your smartphone.
There are other hiking trails in the immediate vicinity, such as the Bergische Panoramasteig or the Sauerland-Höhenflug circular trail. The Genkeltalsperre dam is also within walking distance. A hiking overview board at the hiking parking lot also provides a corresponding overview.
An additional small highlight along the way: the witches' oak with a rest area and "legendary radio play station" also invites you to take a short break.
