The total length of the Atta-Höhle measures 6,670 meters, of which around 1,800 meters are open to the public. The guided tour through the easily accessible cave takes around 40 minutes. The temperature in the Atta-Höhle is a constant 9°C. Every day. 365 times a year. Summer and winter.

The Atta-Höhle cave was discovered by chance. What a coincidence! Quarry workers from the Biggetal lime works could not believe their eyes on July 19, 1907 during blasting: when the huge cloud of dust from the explosion had settled, they looked into an exposed crevice in the rock flooded with sunny daylight. They crawled in and what they saw left them speechless. The workers gazed into a labyrinth of beautiful stalactite formations - artfully grown stalagmites and stalactites - stone curtains hanging artistically from the rock ceiling, as if a decorator had passed his master's examination. Unbeknownst to them, the quarrymen from Attendorn had uncovered the entrance to one of the greatest natural wonders on earth: the entrance to the legendary Atta-Höhle Cave. Named after Princess Atta, who gave her name to the Hanseatic town of Attendorn.

Cave therapy/spelaeotherapy, show cave, restaurant/café, package deals, guided tours as required, approximately every 15 minutes.
