Starting at the Heed hiking parking lot in the south of Meinerzhagen, the 5-kilometer-long active forest trail winds its way around the Heedberg. Along the way, many varied forest discovery stations await, such as a dendrophon (here you can make the different trees / woods sound) or the unique forest classroom.
A highlight is the attached lookout point with a forest sofa to really enjoy the peace and the wide view.
At the starting point there is an information board with an overview of the forest active path and the individual stations. Here you can also download the Wald-Aktiv-Pfad app free of charge. By signaling via the app when you reach a station along the forest active trail, you get exciting and informative additional material around the adventure stations directly on your smartphone.
Other hiking trails are located in the immediate vicinity, be it the Bergische Panoramasteig or the circular trail at the Sauerland-Höhenflug. The Genkeltalsperre is also within walking distance. A hiking overview board at the hiking parking lot also provides a corresponding overview.
An additional small highlight along the way: the witch's oak with a resting place and a "fabulous radio play station" also invites you to take a short break.
